Invisalign

Invisalign is a series of clear, custom-made aligners that are designed to gradually move teeth into their proper positions. The aligners are made specifically for each patient and are worn over the teeth, usually for about 22 hours per day. They are almost invisible and are an alternative to metal braces that can be removed during meals and cleaning.Invisalign

Invisalign works best for patients who want to avoid the appearance of metal brackets on their teeth or patients who need more control over the positioning of their teeth during treatment because they have difficulty keeping their lips closed or opening wide enough to brush properly with traditional braces.

Invisalign Benefits

  • There are no metal brackets or wires that you need to worry about with Invisalign.

  • They are clear, almost invisible, removable, and a comfortable way to straighten teeth.

  • The aligners fit comfortably over your teeth so you can eat what you want, brush your teeth as usual, and talk as much as you want.

  • With the clear aligners you won’t suffer any irritation to the cheeks and gums from the metal parts of braces.

The Procedure

Clear aligners are available for adults and teens. The process starts with the Invisalign dentist seeing if clear aligners are right for you. Your dentist will complete an examination, along with x-rays. They will then take impressions of your teeth and send them to Invisalign headquarters for digitizing. The company then sends back a series of 3D printed models which will be the basis for the aligners you will wear during treatment. These models are made into clear trays fitted onto your teeth by your dentist or orthodontist. They will provide constant but gentle pressure on your teeth. The aligners will be replaced every two weeks until all your teeth have been moved into the desired position.
